Pro Eye Care Celebrates Grand Opening In Darien

DARIEN, CT — Pro Eye Care, the first business to sign a lease at the new Corbin District in Darien, celebrated its grand opening this week with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Located at 36 Old Kings Highway South, #110, Pro Eye Care is run by Dr. Inna Lazar, a prominent authority on primary eye health and one of the country’s most sought-after experts in the treatment of dry eye.

Lazar previously founded Greenwich Eye Care and the Dry Eye Spa of Greenwich.

Pro Eye Care in Darien offers a wide array of services, including comprehensive eye examinations, pediatric evaluations, diagnosis and treatment of various eye conditions, contact lens fittings, and state-of-the-art dry eye treatments.

“We could not be more excited,” Lazar told Patch about the grand opening in Darien. Pro Eye Care has been seeing patients as far back as Dec. 1. “There are a lot of young families and a lot of young professionals here who lack eye care, and we’re here to bring eye care and elevate the understanding of what eye care means and take it to the next level.”

Along with the comprehensive patient services, Pro Eye Care also offers high-end boutique eyewear at an affordable price point.

“We take a lot of pride in that, because we’re bringing in new things that nobody else offers,” Lazar said.

The experience at Pro Eye Care is very personalized to each patient and customer, Lazar said.

“The contact lenses are custom made, glasses are custom made, so when patients come, they’re not getting something that’s just off the shelf. It’s absolutely personalized for them — for their face, or their eyes, and I think that’s a big deal… Patients deserve that,” she added.

There are about 12 employees at Pro Eye Care, including an associate doctor.

Darien Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kesti Aysseh said the town is “thrilled” to welcome Lazar and her team, especially to the new Corbin District.

“It’s great to have an ophthalmologist in town focusing on (no pun intended) family care and specialty exams,” Aysseh told Patch in an email. “Their top of the line designer eyeglass and sunglass selections is also an added bonus when visiting their office. People are welcome to come in and see what they have to offer. Another new business adding to the overall economic vitality of Darien!”

Lazar was named one of “America’s Best Eye Doctors” by Newsweek in 2022 and featured in Fairfield County’s Business Journal “40 Under 40 Best Doctors” in 2021.

She recently received an “Ambassador of Sight” award from the National Lions Team, a prestigious, international nonprofit organization that aids people with eye care issues and eyeglass needs.

Lazar is a frequent public speaker, healthcare consultant, and advisor to major companies in the eye care industry. She is also heavily involved in charity, specifically related to Ukraine, the country where she was born.
