HARWINTON/NEW BRITAIN, CT — Some familiar names sat atop the leaderboard at the conclusion of the CIAC Division II and Division III golf tournaments early Tuesday afternoon.
Daniel Hand High School of Madison posted a 306 team score to top runner-up Killingly by 12 strokes at the D-II event at Fairview Farm Golf Club in Harwinton. Three Tigers finished in the individual top five: Kasimir Lesnik tied for second with a 75, while Jonathan Dolph and Reece Scott were among four players tied for fourth with 76. Freshman Kyle Beaudry added a 79 for Hand, which won the title for the third time in the past four springs.
Holden Sullivan of RHAM fired an even-par 72 to win individual medalist honors.

In the D-III tournament at Stanley Golf Course in New Britain, Luke Stennett of Portland posted a blistering 3-under par 68 to lap the field, winning the individual medalist honors by eight strokes over Shane Luca of East Catholic. His efforts led the Highlanders to a 17-stroke victory over East Catholic, Portland’s second straight D-III crown and third consecutive state championship, having won the D-IV title in 2021.
Portland’s Quinn Lapinski shot 78 to tie for fifth, and Joseph LaMalfa tied for 10th with an 80.
