Are You Holding The Winning Powerball Ticket Sold In Los Angeles?

LOS ANGELES, CA — No one won the massive Powerball jackpot Saturday, but the drawing made one lucky local an overnight multimillionaire.

A ticket with five of the winning numbers was sold in Sun Valley, and it’s worth $2,462,356, according to the California Lottery.

The ticket sold at the 7-Eleven at 12500 Roscoe Boulevard was the only one with five winning numbers sold in California. It had all five matching number but was missing the Powerball number. Similar tickets were sold in Indiana, Texas, Washington and Florida.

With no tickets hitting all six numbers in Saturday’s drawing, the estimated jackpot for Monday’s drawing is expected to reach $800 million.

Saturday’s winning numbers were 6, 23, 25, 34, 51 and the Powerball number was 3. There have been 35 drawings since the last jackpot was won. Players have a 1 in 292.2 million chance of winning the jackpot, according to lottery officials.

California Lottery players have won, or co-won, the top four largest jackpots in Powerball history — all worth more than $1 billion. The winning ticket for the largest jackpot ever — a $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot — was sold in Los Angeles County and claimed in 2023. This month, the winner of last year’s $1.765 billion Powerball jackpot — the second largest jackpot in United States history — was identified as Theodorus Struyck of California.

For every Powerball or Mega Millions ticket sold in California, approximately 80 cents goestoward public schools, according to the lottery.
