JOLIET, IL — In case you were wondering whether the ACE Drive-In on Plainfield Road would be open for the 2024 summer season, there’s some positive news to report. On Sunday, ACE posted on its Facebook page that Monday’s solar eclipse will mark the opening day for ACE.
ACE, a Joliet tradition since 1949, will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. In 2022, Patch reported that the new owner at ACE is Mitch Pierson.
He’s acquired the iconic Joliet restaurant at 1207 Plainfield Road from his father Rich Pierson and his uncle Tom Pierson. The Pierson brothers ran ACE for 39 years. Now, it’s Mitch Pierson’s turn.
