OAK LAWN, IL — Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’, keep them doggies rollin’ all the way to another rollover in Park Lawn’s Queen of Hearts Raffle. The queen’s booty going into Wednesday’s drawing stands at $326,830.

There’s a whole pile of diamonds waiting for her majesty whenever she decides to show up for Park Lawn’s Queen of Hearts Raffle. Sarah D. played the 27 spot, revealing the 10 of diamonds. She still goes home a winner with 24 free tickets for next week’s drawing, which is expected to reach $350,000..

Online ticket sales end at 2 p.m. Wednesday, or, go to At The Office Sports Bar & Grill, 4902 Cal Sag Road, Crestwood, where you can buy tickets in person up until the drawing at 7 p.m.

The current progressive raffle jackpot continues to set new records for Park Lawn, with 43 spots remaining on the board, including two jokers that could reset the board. The person who finds the queen of hearts will split the jackpot 60-40 with Park Lawn if present, 50-50 if they’re playing in Facebook-land.

There is no cap on prize amounts in Crestwood, so the sky’s the limit. In 2018, a Queen of Hearts raffle reached $2.6 million after 40 weeks of play at McNally’s Pub in Beverly-Mt. Greenwood. The winner split 50 percent of the jackpot with St. Cajetan School. Chicago Ald. Matt O’Shea (19th) pushed a special ordinance through the Chicago City Council to allow the McNally’s game to continue.

Online sales close at 2 p.m. the day of the drawing. Players can now play multiple numbers in a single online purchase. That number, along with the buyer’s name and phone number, will be written down by a Park Lawn representative on all the tickets purchased in that transaction and placed into that week’s drawing. Read the terms and conditions. Players must be 18 or over.

Should the Queen of Hearts appear, the winner splits the pot 60-40 with Park Lawn if present; or 50-50 if not present. The person whose ticket is drawn but doesn’t find the queen gets 24 free tickets for the next week’s drawing. Should the ace of spades appear, the winner (must be present to win) will receive free appetizers every week for a year at At the Office. Joker resets the board.
You can watch the drawing live every Wednesday at 7 p.m. on Park Lawn Charity Facebook.

All proceeds benefit Park Lawn’s programs for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including supported employment, residential, social and home-based services.

“It doesn’t matter if you buy first, middle or last,” said Mark Dynia, chief marketing officer for Park Lawn. “You have a very good chance of having your ticket pulled.”

RELAC Referendum Result Revealed At Reston Association Meeting

Click:wps官网下载

RESTON, VA — Reston Association Board of Directors announced in a special meeting on Wednesday night that the referendum to repeal the portion the Reston covenants dealing with the the Reston Lake Anne Air-Conditioning Corporation cooling system failed.

In order for the resolution to pass, 229 people needed to vote in favor of revoking the RELAC provision. Only 165 of the 343 residents who received the ballot voted to revoke the system and 89 voted to keep the provision in the Reston governing documents.

Operators of the cooling system notified its customers in December that the 2023 cooling season would be the last year the company would be providing its services.

In response, the RA Board investigated ways to ensure that residents required by the Reston Deed to use RELAC would have a cooling system in place when the warmer weather started.

The board determined that repealing the portion of the Reston Deed that required those living in the residential Clusters on RELAC to use that service.

RA mailed out the ballots on Feb. 16, including the following language:

Do you agree that SectionVI.2(b)(15), Air Conditioning Units should be revoked thereby deleting the section of the Reston Deed in its entirety?

“Air Conditioning Units in any residential Cluster in which central air-conditioning serve is available to the Lot Line, no individual air-conditioning units of any type shall be permitted. This covenant may only be amended or revoked by at least a two-thirds vote of the Category A Members of all residential Clusters on the service.”

If the referendum had past, residents in the affected clusters would’ve been able install individual cooling systems for their homes.

“The board believed that this was everything we could do to try and facilitate a resolution,” RA Board President John Farrell said, after the results of the vote were announced. “The board had encouraged people to vote ‘yes’ and the membership who are subjected to this covenant has spoken.”

'Traumatizing': Family Fundraises For Farmingdale Woman Struck By Car

FARMINGDALE, NY — The family of a woman who was struck and dragged a quarter-mile in a Farmingdale crash is asking for help.

Stephen Caruso created a GoFundMe after his mother and son were run over on Main and Fulton streets on Dec. 29. More than $10K has been raised as of Tuesday afternoon.

People can support the family’s fundraiser here.

MaryAnn Caruso, 69, and her grandson, 12, were walking south on Fulton Street, in the crosswalk, when they were struck by a 2009 Honda SUV driven by an 80-year-old woman, Nassau police said. The driver was making a right-hand turn heading westbound onto Fulton Street when she struck and ran over the boy and then struck and dragged the woman, police said.

“Both my mother and son suffered terrible injuries,” Caruso wrote on GoFundMe.

Caruso said the community’s generosity has been “overwhelming” for his family.

“It’s difficult to put into words how grateful we are at the support from the community,” Caruso told Patch. “We always knew Farmingdale pulls together to support one another, and it touches our hearts at the tremendous support and love that came from this community.”

Caruso said his son is recovering and could get back to sports soon.

MaryAnn had at least seven surgeries. On Tuesday, she got clearance that she would be able to go home soon. A nurse will visit the house twice a day for wound care, Caruso said.

Caruso described his mother’s injuries.

Warning: The description is graphic.

“My mother’s back of her head was completely ripped open and her skull was exposed; she had to have major skin grafting on her head as well as her whole back, legs and foot from being dragged and burned from road rash,” Caruso wrote. “It has been a horrible and traumatizing 65 days for my family and I.”

MaryAnn is in rehab and is slowly getting better, but she will never be the same physically or mentally, Caruso said.

“My family and I are asking for help with any kind of donations to help cover whatever expenses she will accumulate and has been the last few months. My mother is turning 70 in August and both my brothers and I would love to see her smile again and get back to some normalcy. She’s been very strong and appreciates the fact that she’s still alive after that horrible accident. It has not been easy for her and she still cannot talk about it without crying. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for listening and for all, your well wishes and support.”

Backstage News On When The Rock Begins Filming His Next Movie Project

An update on The Rock’s schedule.

The Great One will be competing at WWE WrestleMania 40 and is rumored to be wrestling again later in the year. However, PW Insider has some news on The Rock’s next film project, including dates that the former world champion will be unable to step into the squared circle.

As noted a few months ago, The Rock will be starring in the A24 film The Smashing Machine, a story about MMA legend Mark Kerr, who will be portrayed by The Rock. According to Insider, casting is underway, with the project slated to start filming between May 1st and August 1st. That means that Rocky will most likely not be able to do anything physical in WWE during that time.

Montclair Election 2024: Erik D'Amato Sets Sights On Town Council Seat

MONTCLAIR, NJ — What does the Montclair Township Council need most as it prepares to reboot this election season? According to Erik D’Amato, the answer is simple: more “regular folk.”

Montclair will have a municipal election on Tuesday, May 14. In total, seven seats will be up for grabs: mayor, two at-large council members, and a council member in each of the four wards. See the election timeline, ward maps and other important information here.

This year’s candidates include two slates – “Together Montclair” and the “Montclair Good Government Team” – and several independents, including D’Amato, who is running for a seat in the First Ward.

PATCH: What background or professional experience qualifies you for the job?

D’AMATO: Running for and serving on the Council is a logical extension of my previous civic work in Montclair, especially the effort to create an independently-elected school board. I have also been among those who pay close attention to the work of the Council and municipal government, tracking and regularly speaking up on proposed ordinances and contracts, and related policy questions.

My professional background as a journalist and consultant is also relevant, as I have worked with numerous governments here and abroad, and international organizations such as the World Bank.

But that said, I reckon that many of our current problems flow from having a council dominated by people whose day jobs involve Jersey politics, instead of regular folk with an interest in civics, and a desire to serve.

PATCH: What is your campaign platform? What are your priorities if elected?

D’AMATO: First and foremost my priority is to end the “pay-to-play” practices and other forms of soft and not-so-soft corruption and authoritarian behavior that we have unfortunately seen so much of in recent years. This will take work, because such bad habits become ingrained in the governing culture of a place, whether it is here in New Jersey or in one of the developing countries I have spent much of my career in. But this work is necessary, because everything else we might want our Township government to do hinges on whether it is honest, accountable, and transparent.

Beyond that, I have a long list of things I am interested in, both for the First Ward and township-wide, ranging from traffic safety and sharing of PILOT revenue to aging-in-place and the possibilities for new recreation facilities. As I meet with residents the list of priorities and concerns gets longer, and I will be exploring many of them on my website as the campaign goes on.
