Update: After a leak that Eevee was getting its own Tamagotchi, the Japanese Tamagotchi website has officially confirmed the release, which can be raised into one of eight evolutions.

The Tamagotchi will be available in two design options: “I love you, Eevee” and “Colorful friends.”

So far there is only a release date for Japan, which will be on Jan. 26, 2019. The Tamagotchi will cost 2,300 yen or approximately $20 USD.

Original story continues below.

Leaked Japanese promotional images appeared online showing the possibility of the Pokemon Eevee having a collaboration with the virtual pet, Tamagotchi.

First reported by Serebii, this possible leak is entirely unconfirmed, but would coincide with the upcoming Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee games that will hit stores on Nov. 16.

The leak shows a promotional sheet that was reportedly found on Japanese image boards, and shows imagery of a Tamagotchi Nano with Eevee that can evolve into one of eight evolutions: Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Umbreon, Espeon, Leafeon, Glaceon or Sylveon.

Two different shells are offered, one being the traditional brown Eevee, and the other being a colorful, pink version. Outfits are shown that include a Team Rocket outfit and a Ditto Eevee.

Tamagotchi’s were a virtual toy pet from the ’90s that made a resurgence in 2017 for their 20th anniversary. Bandai America released a new, smaller line called Tamagotchi Nano with the original Japanese designs.
