For this multi-part series, Bearing Tips.com reached out to several leading bearing industry professionals to get their take on the year in bearings. Here, Peter Schroth of Auburn Bearing & Manufacturing gives us a brief look back on 2016 and his prediction for the new year.

Bearing Tips:  What do you think was the biggest event in the industry this year and
how did it affect your business?

Schroth: PTDA summit in San Diego CA., the upbeat economic outlook from Dr. Alan Beaulieu, of ITR Economics was encouraging.

Bearing Tips: Can you recap the year in Bearings overall?

Schroth:We had about an 8% to 10% sales increase, but I would call that a flat year with some things getting pushed out into next year.

Bearing Tips: What do you expect to see in 2017?

Schroth: I’m still optimistic about next year, as we are small it just takes a few good wins to make it a good year.
