Elmhurst Vietnamese Restaurant Returns

ELMHURST, IL – Pho Lime, a Vietnamese restaurant in Elmhurst, was closed for a time this year. But it is back.

It was unclear how long Pho Lime, 561 N. York St., was shut down. In mid-June, it was listed online as “temporarily closed.”

Based on social media commentary, Pho Lime appears to have reopened sometime in the following month.

In its recent business update, Elmhurst listed Pho Lime as among the “new and expanding businesses” since April.

At a City Council meeting in June, Alderman Michael Bram said the city needs sit-down restaurants on the north side.

Heather Bereckis, the city’s business development manager, said Pho Lime qualified as a sit-down restaurant.

“It’s a sit-down restaurant if you like noodle soup. I do,” she said. “Hopefully, we’ll see you guys there.”

Looking up the restaurant online after the meeting, Patch discovered it was temporarily closed. The eatery did not return a message for comment at the time.

Since it reopened, Pho Lime has received positive comments online.

“Family dinner at Pho Lime tonight was excellent!” a resident wrote on the “TakeOut 25-Elmhurst” Facebook page. “Teens had sandwiches that were large, so leftovers for tomorrow. Hubby had a pho bowl and the broth was rich and tasty.”
