At the TNA Victory Road 2024 special event on TNA+ on September 13, Rhino and PCO came to the ring for their scheduled match against Matt Cardona and his “property” Steph De Lander.

Before the bell, De Lander grabbed the microphone and said she had something to say.

While fighting through “What?” chants from the sold out San Antonio, Texas crowd, De Lander announced that she has to get neck surgery, as she has been waking up in bad pain for some time now.

De Lander used Sting’s old WWE Hall of Fame induction line to wrap up the emotional promo, “This isn’t goodbye, it’s see you later.”

Her “husband” PCO then walked her to the back, and Cardona attacked Rhino with his finisher and left him laying to end the segment.

Backstage Update On Changes Coming To SmackDown On USA & NXT On CW, Raw/Netflix Notes

With the move from FOX to USA Network and USA Network to CW for SmackDown and NXT, respectively, other changes will be coming to both weekly WWE television programs.

SmackDown is expected to have a new theme song, which will likely air as part of the premiere tonight on USA Network. The word is a “legit artist” made the new theme.

The ending of each show will have slight changes as well, in terms of flexibility. SmackDown will have more now, while NXT will have less. The usual overruns for NXT will likely go away, while SmackDown may have some from time-to-time.

USA Network has sent out promotional packages to a number of influencers and streamers to promote the move for WWE SmackDown. This is a common promotional practice by television networks.

WWE is looking to stack the deck, which is evident already with early announcements, for the early NXT on CW shows. The company wants to make a huge first impression on the CW network and an attempt to keep recent upward trending NXT viewership.

The WWE Performance Center is still expected to host the regular NXT shows going forward, following the initial debut shows in Chicago and St. Louis.

Commercials have always been planned for the move of WWE Raw from USA Network to Netflix in January. The show will not be a three hour, commercial-free program each week, despite switching to a paid platform.

SmackDown will remain two hours despite rumors of it being changed to three upon settling in on the USA Network. Raw on Netflix is expected to return to three hours after switching to two hours for October through December.

Bret Hart Reflects On WWE Return On Raw Season Premiere: “Running Into Triple H Is Always A Pleasure”

Bret Hart thinks it’s “always a pleasure” running into people from his era in WWE.

Even Paul “Triple H” Levesque.

Although the two weren’t the best of friends during their active in-ring careers, “The Hitman” appears to share a mutual respect for the WWE Chief Content Officer.

In a new digital exclusive released by WWE on Thursday, “The Excellence of Execution” reflected on his memorable WWE television return on the “Season Premiere” of Monday Night Raw on September 9 at the Scotiabank Saddledome in his hometown of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

–>

–>

“I didn’t just assume or take for granted that they were going to invite me down,” Hart said of the offer to come to the show on 9/9. “Anytime I get a chance to be in front of the Calgary fans, because I think Calgary fans go back the furthest when I was 18-19. It’s a very special and powerful building for me to walk in. A lot of great memories here, a lot of title matches. Even in the old Stampede Wrestling days, a lot of memories here.”

Hart continued, “It’s kind of a funny feeling to walk down the ring slowly and kind of pull yourself back into the ring and find yourself standing in the center of it and talking to the fans. I don’t know if I looked a little nervous because I’m not sure that I was. Standing in the middle of the ring there for a few seconds, this transformation takes place. I think I transformed back in Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart for a minute for everyone. It was fun for me to do that. It was something that was magical that was brought out by the love of the fans.”

Regarding his interaction with Triple H behind-the-scenes at the 9/9 Raw, Hart stated, “There’s not that many from my generation that are around anymore. Running into Triple H is always a pleasure.”
