3 Injured After Car Crashes Into West Babylon Home: Police

WEST BABYLON, NY — A car crashed into a house in West Babylon on Sunday and injured three people early Saturday morning, Suffolk County police said.

Cristian Banega-Salmendares, 27, of West Babylon, was driving a 2023 Dodge SUV southbound on Great East Neck Road when he lost control of the vehicle, went off the road, struck a low concrete wall, flipped into the air and crashed into a home on Great East Neck Road at approximately 12:30 a.m., police said.

Firefighters from the West Babylon Fire Department arrived on the scene with Chief of Department Steve Kamalic and said it was a “complex rescue operation.”
It took the fire crew “just under an hour” to remove one of the victims in the vehicle, officials told Patch.

Anna Baptiste, 46, and Michel Baptiste, 45, a married couple who reside in the home, were transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
