The position of the hob 2 and the screw groove 111 needs to be very precise to enter, otherwise it is easy to collide with the tool and damage the thread and equipment. This solution can reduce or avoid the direct collision of the hob 2 with the tooth bottom or thread teeth when it just enters the screw groove 111, making the processing smoother and further reducing the risk of rolling threads on CNC lathes.</p><p>In some specific embodiments, the hob 2 moves along the Z axis while tilting away from the thread segment 11 along the X axis. During the hobbing process, the bearings connected to the hob 2 and the main shaft are subjected to high pressure and heat, which may burn out the bearings after long-term use, or the main shaft may be overloaded and stop due to excessive force, affecting the processing or even causing equipment failure.</p><p>Therefore, the hob 2 is set to move away from the thread segment 11 along the X axis during the processing, that is, the hob 2 is tilted outward during the movement of the Z axis, forming an angle α as shown in Figure 1, gradually reducing the rolling depth, and finally moving away from the bottom of the tooth, so that the rolling process of the thread segment 11 by the hob 2 is a section close to the retreat groove 12, not the entire thread segment 11. Referring to Figure 1, the length M is the actual rolling length, which can shorten the processing time.</p><p>The rolling pressure also shows an overall decreasing trend during the machining process. When the threaded segment 11 of the workpiece 1 is subjected to force in cooperation with the nut, the nut is mainly connected to the side of the threaded segment 11 close to the back cutter groove 12, that is, the main force position of the threaded segment 11 is in the section close to the back cutter groove 12. Therefore, rolling only the section close to the back cutter groove 12 does not affect the normal use of the workpiece 1, thereby reducing the pressure-bearing time and pressure of the hob 2 and the spindle, and further reducing the risk of rolling threads on the CNC lathe.</p><p>In some specific embodiments, the hob 2 can be rolled to the required depth in multiple times, reducing the pressure of each rolling and the load of the CNC lathe. The multiple feed processing can be: when rolling the first to fourth cuts, each time increase 0.1mm, gradually make the hob go deeper to the required depth; when rolling the fifth cut or more, such as the fifth to the tenth cut, the hob depth is not increased, the hob moves idly according to the depth of the fourth cut, and the root of the entire thread is trimmed at this depth.</p><p>In some specific embodiments, the hob 2 includes a rolling seat and a rolling wheel rotatably connected to the rolling seat, and there is a swing gap between the rolling wheel and the rolling seat, so that the rolling wheel can swing to adapt to the screw groove 111 during the rolling process, thereby reducing the damage to the screw thread caused by processing errors.</p><p>Since there is a swing gap between the rolling wheel and the rolling seat, the matching accuracy of the rolling wheel entering the screw groove 111 after the CNC lathe starts processing is required to be higher. Through this tool setting method and starting from one side of the backing groove 12 as the starting point to reduce the position accuracy requirement when entering, the hob 2 can enter the screw groove 111 more accurately.</p><h2>Conclusion</h2> <p>The application of CNC lathes has become more and more popular, and ordinary machine tools will eventually slowly withdraw from the stage of history. Defending Champions Gujarat Titans will take on four-time champions Chennai Super Kings in Qualifier-1. India lose to Britain 2-4 in FIH Pro League Hockey

A lacklustre India suffered their second successive defeat in the European leg of the FIH Men’s Hockey Pro League, going down to dominant hosts Great Britain 2-4 here on Saturday.

Timothy Nurse struck a field goal for Great Britain in the sixth minute while Harmanpreet equalised for India from a penalty corner in the 13th minute.

Sorsby Thomas scored Britain’s second in the 31st minute, helping them regain the lead before Lee Morton came up with an excellent goal on the 33rd minute after catching the Indians napping.

Harmanpreet reduced the deficit for India with his second goal of the day — this one too from a penalty corner — in the 42nd minute, the strike helping him become the all-time top-scorer in the Pro League with 35 goals.

Bandurak Nicholas regained England’s two-goal lead with his 53rd minute strike at the Lee Valley Hockey Centre, and India could not put up a fight from there.

India had lost to Olympic champions Belgium 1-2 on Friday.

Nurse opened the account for England with his maiden goal at the senior level. He dribbled his way past Lalit Kumar Upadhyay and Mandeep Mor down the left to enter the Indian ‘D’ before shooting the ball past keeper Krishan Bahadur Pathak, who started at goal ahead of the seasoned PR Sreejesh.

The Indians found the equaliser when Harmanpreet Singh hit the back of the net off a penalty corner on the 13th minute.

Their morale boosted by the equaliser, the visitors looked to dominate the Britons and called the shots in the second quarter when an Indian goal was also disallowed following a review after the English opted for a video referral.

Meanwhile, Wallace Zachary’s penalty stroke was saved by a diving Sreejesh to keep the match in balance.

However, the hosts regained the lead when Sorsby converted a penalty corner in the third quarter. Morton Lee made it 3-1 for England with the home team’s second strike — a field goal — in the third quarter.

IPL chairman Arun Singh Dhumal sees no threat from new T20 leagues

The Indian Premier League’s (IPL) stature as the world’s top Twenty20 competition is secure despite the emergence of similar franchise-based tournaments around the world, its chairman Arun Singh Dhumal told Reuters.

The IPL, with an estimated brand value of $8.4 billion, continues to attract the world’s top players and coaches with the kind of money T20 competitions in Australia and England can only dream of.

The landscape is changing, however, with lucrative leagues starting up in the United Arab Emirates and South Africa this year, while Major League Cricket gets underway in the United States next month.

Even if players now have more choice where to take their talent than ever before, Dhumal was confident the IPL would retain its primacy in franchise cricket.

“We don’t see anyone else as our competition, there is none even close to IPL,” he told Reuters by telephone.

“Our best wishes to all the boards starting their own T20 leagues, but I don’t think any of them can be a threat to IPL.”

Dhumal’s conviction stems from the strong viewership numbers for this year’s IPL, which concluded on Monday, especially from the league’s digital partner.

Jio Cinema, in a statement on Wednesday, said more than 120 million unique viewers had tuned in to watch Chennai Super Kings beat Gujarat Titans in a dramatic final, with a peak concurrency of 32.1 million.

“It has been a phenomenal success, and largely because of the sheer competitiveness of this year’s tournament,” Dhumal added.

“Most of the matches went down to the wire and there were plenty of last-over thrillers. We got a phenomenal response from the fans. Our viewership grew manifold and our broadcast and digital partners both are excited.

“Even the in-stadia experience of the fans has been phenomenal, and going forward it’s only going to get better.”

The IPL’s popularity has remained undimmed since its 2008 inception and the Indian cricket board’s (BCCI) policy of not allowing its own players to participate in foreign leagues has helped ensure its preeminence.

Dhumal said the IPL would remain a 10-team event but the number of matches, currently 74 per season, might go up to 94 if it gets a bigger window in the calendar prepared by the governing International Cricket Council (ICC).

While the IPL offers life-changing money for most of its participants, the global cricketers’ association has called for players to receive a bigger share of the league’s revenue.

Dhumal, however, said there had been no discussions about increasing the $11.5 million salary cap for each franchise.

“We will have to consult the franchises and team owners before taking a call,” he said.

“While we still have 10 months before the next IPL, a lot of discussion will have to take place before anything like that happens.”

Dhumal, who is also a senior BCCI official, also dismissed media reports that the IPL was planning to stage matches in Saudi Arabia or to help the oil-rich country set up its own T20 league.
