SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)…
Sammy Guevara, as we reported last night, suffered a scary injury during a match against Serpentico that was taped for ROH TV before AEW Dynamite aired last night. (Read our full story along with a link to footage of the aftermath HERE.)
PWTorch has heard from multiple sources that, while there was serious concern for his well-being after the incident among his colleagues and management, after being treated and evaluated, he was walking around backstage on his own. In fact, if you hadn’t known he was stretchered out of the ring earlier, it wouldn’t have been obvious to anyone.
That said, it’s not clear if he suffered a concussion or another injury that could cost him ring time. AEW doesn’t always report on injury details and leaves it up to wrestlers themselves. Guevara posted a Tweet on Wednesday with two photos of him on the first episode Dynamite five years ago shaking hands with Cody Rhodes and standing with Chris Jericho. He has not Tweeted about his condition or injury, though, since then.

Yet another new title tilt has been announced for the next All Elite Wrestling pay-per-view.
During the special milestone five-year anniversary episode of AEW Dynamite on October 2, a backstage segment was featured on the show that led to the addition of another new championship contest for AEW Wrestle Dream 2024.
Katsuyori Shibata challenged “The Scapegoat” Jack Perry for a shot at the TNT Championship at AEW Wrestle Dream 2024 on October 12 at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, WA.
After using his phone app to issue the challenge in English, the Japanese star was told by Perry that he would think about it, only for “The Scapegoat” to turn back around and sneak attack Shibata from behind. He laid Shibata out and informed him that his challenge has been accepted.

SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)…
In a match that took place tonight in Pittsburgh, Pa. before AEW Dynamite went live on TBS, Sammy Guevera suffered what appeared to be a head or neck injury during a match with Serpentico. The match was immediately stopped after Serpentico gave Guevara a cutter.
A female “enhancement talent” also suffered an injury during a match that led to her being stretchered. Lady Frost landed a move off the top rope and it appeared Frost might’ve knocked her out with her leg or knee upon landing on her.
Thanks to PWTorch contributor Tony Donofrio for the report from inside the arena.
We’ll report more details when they become available.

An injury occurred in the ring prior to the start of the AEW Dynamite 5-Year Anniversary show on October 2, 2024.
Kelly Madan, an independent women’s wrestler, was reportedly legitimately knocked out in the ring during a match against Lady Frost that was being taped for an episode of ROH On HonorClub.
According to reports, Madan was knocked out during a spinning move off the ropes in the final spot in the bout.
Following the spot, the referee made the three-count to give Frost the victory and it was noted that Madan was “obviously” unconscious and not moving.
–>
–>
This led to the AEW medical team, Frost and the referee all surrounding Madan to block the view of what was happening from the crowd and cameras.
The lights inside the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, PA. were reportedly darkened while the medical team was checking on Madan. The ring ropes were loosened and Madan was taken to the back on a back-board.
We will keep you posted.

SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)…
When C.M. Punk returned to WWE at Survivor Series last year, there were a lot of mixed emotions. A lot of people were happy, given that his return happened at Allstate Arena in his hometown of Chicago. But a lot of people weren’t happy, citing his behavior and attitude issues from years prior. However, his return brought someone who makes everyone smile around him. That certain someone is his dog Larry.
WWE published a video on their YouTube channel showcasing him and his story, which was told by his owner. The video shows that Larry makes everyone feel happy. He even has his own merch at the WWE Shop.
This was an entertaining video showing that CM Punk deeply cares about Larry and wants him to have a happy and healthy life. Sure, he’s missing the majority of his teeth and doesn’t have the more conventional cuteness that most dogs do, but Punk is happy with his decision to adopt him.
Punk said a lot of people don’t know his backstory, so it helps the fans know and appreciate who Larry is and where he came from. Punk shared that he was rescued from PAWS, Chicago’s resident no kill shelter, after being returned three times. Obviously, Punk knew that Larry needed a good home and he gladly provided that for him. I also enjoyed the inclusion of various wrestlers and staff meeting Larry, giving him pets and rubs.
Overall, this was an enjoyable video that brought together a lot of people’s passions, which are WWE and dogs. There’s no doubt that Larry is loved by everyone who meets him throughout the day. Maybe one day Drew McIntyre will learn to appreciate this special dog. He is always treated good by his owner, C.M. Punk, as well as all of the wrestlers and staff that get to interact with him whenever he gets the chance to be backstage. It’ll be interesting to see what Larry will do the next time he gets to have the spotlight on him, which will hopefully be very soon.
A WWE Hall of Fame legend has surfaced with an update on her family dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.
“The Glamazon” Beth Phoenix checked in on social media on Tuesday evening to share an update on herself, Adam Copeland and the rest of the Copeland family, as they recover from issues related to Hurricane Helene.
The women’s wrestling star shared the following statement via her official Instagram page:
“Copeland Update: The Copeland Family is safe and gathered together. Thank you to all that have reached out!! After several days of no cell phones, no power, no water, limited gas and travel, we are finally getting our feet back on the ground. We have been blessed to be unharmed and have minimal damage to our home and our loved ones’ homes after the catastrophic Hurricane Helene. Because we have had limited access to the internet or media, this is the first time I have been able to observe all of the horrifying footage of our beloved Asheville and affected areas through the lens of others. To say I am overwhelmed is an understatement. While we all grieve process and rebuild as a community, I wanted to share a story of an experience we had.”
The long-awaited All Elite Wrestling and Warner Bros Discovery announcement is coming any time now.
As noted, AEW President Tony Khan wrote on X on Tuesday evening, “I may have another announcement by showtime TOMORROW,” hyping the presumed AEW/WBD television rights announcement for the AEW Dynamite 5-Year Anniversary show tonight in Pittsburgh, PA.
In an update, while no official announcement has been made, we can confirm that promotional materials are already prepared and ready to go to make things official between AEW and WBD, presumably later today.
The announcement is expected imminently, likely this afternoon, unless something drastic changes before then.

We will keep you posted as updates continue to surface.
Tomorrow, Wed, 10/2/24, is the 5-Year Anniversary of the first ever AEW Wednesday Night Dynamite! Thank you all!

To be crystal clear, I’d like to no longer be considered a member of Bullet Club. I’m very thankful for my time with the group and all it has afforded me. I hope you all continue to support me in whatever comes next and not just for the logo printed on my shirt.#TheElite pic.twitter.com/wpyNtphnV3

Wear it & support them. Best time of my career & we’ll always be synonymous with that logo. It’s just time for the next phase. Nothing but love. https://t.co/HFBNnyjKjQ

Road to Power Struggle, Power Struggle 2018, Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘n’ Wrestling Rager at Sea… it’s been a busy week for the stars of New Japan Pro Wrestling.
Super Jr. Tag League 2018 officially came to a close last weekend and while Roppongi 3K proved their dominance for the second year in a row, the tournament made recent NJPW signee Shingo Takagi look like the major player he is. While huge things have got to be in store for Takagi’s LIJ run, I cannot wait for the day we see Shingo Takagi vs. Tetsuya Naito. It’ll be Wrestle Kingdom worthy and whether or not an IWGP title is on the line it won’t matter as the match will steal the show. With that being said, look for Takagi & BUSHI to walk away with the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 13.
If you haven’t checked out the updated card for Wrestle Kingdom 13, do yourself a favour and head over to NJPW1972.com right now. Five matches have been announced so far including “Match of the Night” candidate KUSHIDA defending the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship against ‘Bone Soldier’ Taiji Ishimori. Ishimori’s attack on KUSHIDA at Power Struggle 2018 set the tone and while KUSHIDA represents the division well, Ishimori’s time is now. With NJPW developing plans for post-ELITE, look for the Bone Soldier to capitalize at the Tokyo Dome in January.
Finally, Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘n’ Wrestling Rager at Sea has come and gone. While I write this, I’m listening to “Being The Elite = Bullet Club No More” on Talk Is Jericho and Matt Jackson is officially announcing that The ELITE are no longer part of the Bullet Club. Last night, I watched Kenny Omega defeat Ryusuke Taguchi on the Fight Network to become the 70th IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion at Wrestle Kingdom 9. Kenny Omega, newest member of the Bullet Club. What’s even more ironic is that in Omega’s post-match promo, he defined himself alongside Matt and Nick Jackson as “The ELITE.”
Almost four years later, as I listen to Matt Jackson denounce The ELITE from the Bullet Club, Omega has gone from the newest member of the Bullet Club and NEW IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion to ex-Bullet Club member and current IWGP Heavyweight Champion. He’s set to defend the prestigious title at Wrestle Kingdom 13 against NJPW mainstay Hiroshi Tanahashi. Omega to retain? Not a chance.
The ELITE vs. The Bullet Club in NJPW in 2019?
