Bronson Reed Reveals What Paul Heyman Has Taught Him So Far In WWE

During a recent appearance on the “Insight with Chris Van Vliet” podcast, WWE Superstar Bronson Reed revealed that he has been working closely with Paul Heyman these days.

Reed says ‘The Wise Man’ has been teaching him how to present himself in the ring.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On working with Paul Heyman: “I work a lot with Paul Heyman. I tell people all the time, the biggest influences on my career were my trainer Hartley Jackson, from Australia, then probably Hunter [Triple H]. Now, since the start of the year, I usually sit down and speak with Heyman every week at Raw. He’s a wealth of knowledge when it comes to wrestling.”

On what Heyman has taught him: “How to present myself in the ring. I have always wrestled a certain way for a big man, but there is even more I can do with my size and to make myself look different. He’s always going for something that is different. That, and his promo work is ridiculous. I’ll go to him about a promo and he will just cut a promo off his head and it’s the best promo I’ve ever heard. He’s a genius with words.”

Swerve Strickland Talks At Length About Hangman Page Match, AEW Hiatus & Wrestle Dream Return

Swerve Strickland is on the comeback trail.

Ahead of his advertised return at AEW Wrestle Dream 2024 this weekend, the former AEW World Champion appeared on the new No-Contest Wrestling podcast for an interview.

During the discussion, Swerve spoke about his upcoming return. Featured below is an excerpt:

“There’s a lot in the past I can address. The last time ya’ll saw me, I was knocked completely out by Hangman Page in a cage match. Got a lot of people talking for a whole month. I wasn’t even on camera. There’s a lot I can address there. There’s a lot I can address with the current. There is a lot I can address with the future. That’s the beauty about my presence on this show, especially my hometown and the city where I was born. There is a lot I can go into. Maybe the people are so enthralled and emotionally connected to me that I don’t even have to say much, I let the people say it. Maybe there’s that. Maybe there are things I have to say to Nana because there are a lot of business things that went awry with my presence being gone. No championship. Lost the main event of All Out, back-to-back. There are positives out there, the contract. I’m going to be signed for a long time. There are things to address there. My health condition. I haven’t been cleared for a month now. There are things to address there. There are a lot of things I have on my mind that I can express and go a bunch of different ways. This isn’t a talking segment. This is me really conveying new news with me personally, my businesses outside of this. The Mogul is not just a name I gave myself. It truly is what I am and who I am.”

“You can always expect the next evolution of me with the subtleties. Maybe my hair is different. Maybe my look is different. Something is different. You’ll feel something different in the air. That’s something I always love bringing to the table. You don’t know what to expect, and that’s the beauty of it and the beauty of who I am and what I offer. Even Tony Khan doesn’t know what to expect. He just goes, ‘Show up to work and here is what you got.’ He trusts and he knows I can make it happen. That’s the imprint I have on the show right now. I love it and I worked really hard to gain that. I was patient, I took a long time, and I didn’t rush into it. Let’s see how the landscape takes course and I will find my way and adapt into that. Now, people are anticipating a return of who I am, what I have to bring and what’s different, what’s new, and what old things I’m going to address.”

Claudio Castagnoli Is Okay With Not Being In The AEW World Championship Picture

Claudio Castagnoli says he’s okay with not being in the AEW World Championship picture these days.

While speaking to Sports Illustrated for a new interview, the Blackpool Combat Club member revealed why he’s not all that worried about not getting an opportunity to capture the AEW World Title.

On not being in the World Title picture: “Everybody should aspire to be the World Heavyweight Champion. I think I may have realized as I’m getting older, that that single-minded focus can actually be a big detriment to me. Not everybody is the main character. Not everybody can be the hero of the story. So to me, it is how can I make the most impact?”

On his current focus as a performer: “John Cena said it once to me, ‘You’re only as good as your last match,’ and I very much believe that. That’s very much how I approach every single match. Every single match I wanna be proud of and I feel I owe that to the people who follow my career, and I owe that to every single person tuning in for the first time or for the 100th time. When I’m in the ring, they just know they’re getting the best consistently.”

Backstage Update On The Relationship Between Chris Jericho & MVP

As many of you know by now, MVP has signed a contract with All Elite Wrestling.

Fightful Select is reporting that MVP and Chris Jericho previously had a physical altercation on a past Jericho Cruise, which had resulted in some in the locker room questioning how they’d be able to coexist in Tony Khan’s promotion.

In addition to the physical altercation on the Cruise, there was another incident at an AEW hotel several years ago where the two men got into a heated verbal argument.

The report states that when MVP arrived to the arena on his first night on the job, he went directly to Chris Jericho’s locker room and buried the hatchet. Multiple sources have indicated that they don’t see the previous incidents between the two men being an issue moving forward.

Finally, it was added that MVP and Jericho were seen interacting backstage at last week’s AEW Dynamite TV tapings.

Chris Jericho On AEW Deal Expiring Soon: “I’m About To Go Into My Biggest Contract Year Ever”

Chris Jericho is about to enter into the biggest contract year of his career.

“The Learning Tree” leader said as much during an appearance on SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio this week to promote AEW Wrestle Dream 2024 on Saturday, October 12 from the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, WA.

“I’m about ready to go into my biggest contract year ever,” Jericho said. “That’s one of the things I laugh about when people are like, ‘Jericho just has to be on TV.’ I don’t have to do anything. My boss puts me on TV because he pays me money to be there.”

Jericho continued, “To know that much money is at stake 25 years after the Attitude Era, it blows my mind. This is a great time for the business and fans to be in it. Live sports is the last bastion of advertising. With all the streaming, nobody is watching commercials anymore. The only commercials are NFL, NHL, NBA, AEW, WWE, live sports. That’s why it’s worth that much money. For people going, ‘Oh, they’re overpaying.’ It’s what they have left to make money. When WWE goes to Netflix, suddenly that changes the game as well. It’s an interesting time for the television business, the wrestling business, and live sports and advertising.”
