While You Were Asleep: After Messi, Ramos to leave PSG, Mourinho charged for abusing referee, Bellingham to join Real Madrid

Defender Sergio Ramos has announced that he will leave PSG following the club’s final game against Clermont on Saturday.

Ramos took to Twitter to thank fans for making Paris feel like home during his two years spell. The Spanish defender signed in 2021 and has won two league titles wit the club.

“Tomorrow is a special day, tomorrow I will say goodbye to another stage of my life, goodbye to @PSG_inside,” tweeted Ramos.

“I don’t know in how many places one can feel at home, but without a doubt PSG, the fans, and Paris were one of them for me.”

PSG has posted a thank you note for Ramos. “Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to have seen @SergioRamos defend our colours with such determination and sincerely wishes him the best for the rest of his career.”

The 37-year-old joined Lionel Messi, who too will leave PSG at the end of his contract.

Mourinho charged for using abusive language

AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho has been charged for using abusive language towards referee Anthony Taylor after the Europa Cup final against Sevilla.

Mourinho had to be restrained in car park after sniping at Taylor for being a “f***ing disgrace.” Mourinho had clashed with Taylor throughout the match and didn’t agree with his decisions. The AS Roma coach was hysically held back during one of the final’s many flashpoints.

The anger then spilled out after the game, where Mourinho confronted the referee in the car park.

He was then caught swearing in the direction of Taylor as he approached the referee’s mini-bus, sniping, ‘Congratulations, you f***ing disgrace’, before trudging off to the team bus.

Mourinho faces a ban for using insulting or abusive language against an official.

Taylor and his family were later targeted by Roma fans at Budapest Airport on Thursday.

Bellingham to join Real Madrid

Jude Bellingham’s representatives have started the house hunting in Madrid ahead of his expected £100m-plus move to Real as Spanish giants prepare to finalise six-year deal for the England star in the next few weeks, Mail Sport has reported.

The Dortmund midfielder likely played his last game in a Borussia Dortmund shirt as they missed out on the Bundesliga title on the final day.
