Water Park To Wawa Chaos? Assault, Threats, Thefts In Camden Co.: Cops

LINDENWOLD, NJ — Police are seeking a group suspected of wreaking havoc at a Wawa in Camden County — possibly following their trip to the water park.

The suspects walked into the store (421 S White Horse Pike, Lindenwold) at about 5 p.m. Sunday, authorities said. They began picking up various items and moving them around the store, while yelling and cursing at customers and employees, according to the Lindenwold Police Department.

The group then walked to the prepared-drink area, and an employee asked them not to touch other customers’ beverages, police said. After hearing this, the suspects began to yell at the employee and walked behind the counter, threatening to assault her, according to authorities.

One of the suspects grabbed a 32-ounce carton of extract and hit the worker in the back of the head, police said. Then the group stole a few items and left the store, according to law enforcement.

Witnesses told police that, based on the way the suspects dressed, it appeared they may have possibly come from Clementon Park & Splash World.
