Netflix revealed in a teaser that Season 2 of The Punisher will be premiering sometime in January 2019. The news comes approximately one year after the announcement that a second season of Marvel’s show on Netflix would be happening.
Three new cast members were announced last February to join Jon Bernthal, including Josh Stewart, Floriana Lima, and Giorgia Whigham.
Stewart will be playing the role of John Pilgrim – someone who will apparently cross paths with Frank Castle, while Lima will play a caring psychotherapist for veterans, named Krista Dumont, and Whigham will portray Amy Bendix who is a skillful swindler.
Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb, said in February that, “Josh, Floriana and Giorgia are all remarkable talents and we can’t wait for the audience to see what we have in store for them in the second season of Marvel’s The Punisher.”

The first episode also includes a direct nod to that source material when Micro says, "Welcome back, Frank." That happens to be the subtitle of Ennis and Dillon's original Punisher miniseries from 2000, where they revamped the character after a period of questionable stories. “,”height”:718,”width”:1280,”url”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2017/11/20/01—dillon-ennis-punisher-1511191614470.png”,”styleUrl”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2017/11/20/01—dillon-ennis-punisher-1511191614470_{size}.png”,”credit”:”Marvel Comics”,”objectRelationName”:”Marvel's The Punisher”,”objectRelationUrl”:”/tv/the-punisher-netflix”,”albumName”:”Marvel's The Punisher: The 16 Coolest Easter Eggs and Comic Book References”,”relativePosition”:”02″,”albumTotalCount”:17},{“caption”:”The season includes another fun nod to Punisher: Welcome Back, Frank as Frank attacks several members of the Gnucci crime family.
