Cricket Australia have picked three Indians, namely Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin and Rishabh Pant in their WTC XI for the 2021/23 cycle.
Pant had been the best batter in red-ball cricket for India before his accident last year. He scored 868 runs at an average of 43.41. His strike rate of 80.81 has on countless occasions pushed the opposition on the backfoot during this phase.
Spin twins Ashwin and Jadeja on the other hand have been key components in the Indian contingent with both the bat and the ball. In the Border-Gavaskar trophy earlier this year, the duo rattled the Aussies, helping the home side win the series 2-1. Jadeja was judged the man of the tournament in the series.

However, despite both doing well, the question still remains on who gets the nod ahead for the WTC final starting on June 7 at the Oval. In the previous final in 2021, India chose to go with both spinners after a washed-out first day. Both bowlers ultimately bowled a combined 22 overs in the first innings.
Later in the summer against England, India opted for Jadeja over Ashwin as lone spinner and went with an extra seam bowler in Shardul Thakur. However, with the number of left-handers in the Australian top order, Rohit Sharma might be tempted to go with Ashwin this time around.
